“I have not yet mentally prepared.”
The reason for actress Soo Ae to absent from 2011 SBS Drama Awards ceremony held on December 31st, 2011 is carefully revealed.
Soo Ae won the Top Excellence Best Acress Award on the day through playing the role of Seo Yeon who is suffering from Alzheimer’s disease in A Thousand Days’ Promise, but the her “personal reason” for not attending the awards ceremony sparked curiosity.
On the afternoon of January 4th, 2012 at Seoul Banyan Tree Sports Company at Jangchung-dong, Soo Ae accepted the interview, and said, “Really sorry for not attending the awards ceremony. Until now I haven’t not yet psychologically prepared. Many actors have immersed into dramas of 60, 100 episodes for 4 to 5 months, I am sorry I seem saying too much.” She added, “On the eve of Drama Awards, I even went to try the gown and made the preparation. But the thought of ‘no way could I not going’ cannot be established, I simply do not have the confidence to stand on stage to express feelings.” Continuing, she said, “Very grateful for the award, it’s an award that is profound even in future. I just hope that everybody does not guess, this is definitely just a misunderstanding.” She added, “I do not want to become an arrogant actor, and also do not want to become a person who cannot understand sufficiently.”
Soo Ae still cannot walks out from the role of Seo Yeon in A Thousand Days’ Promise drama. After the end of show, she is still suffering and feels exhaustion. She said, “Running to the end like marathon, out of breath, doesn’t even have time to drink, I feel myself lack of confident. I promise that I will learn from A Thousand Days’ Promise on how to treat people and things, to pay back everybody’s love.”
