Recently the Korean actress, whose is loved for her acting in popular SBS TV drama Protect the Boss, was interviewed by media. Here is the translated transcript of the interview she did with TVDaily:
The 35 year-old Choi Kang Hee, her face carries a mysterious flavor which cannot simply describes as face of children. Round eyes with pure wizard’s eyes, as if angel coming from another world.
Choi Kang Hee who is taking a break after the end of broadcast for SBS TV series Protect the Boss, still has not walked out from the shadow of Eun Sul, and now after the TV series ended, she more or less feels empty and miss.
Choi Kang Hee said, “Recently a party was held to celebrate the end of drama, the eyes of Ji Sung even turned red, Ji Hye also about to cry at the side, but I did not feel anything. Strange, am I bad person? Actually, it’s because I start to miss much later than them.” Having fell into sadness and distress now, she added, “I was originally a person who can quickly leave from the character after the work ends, but very fond of Protect the Boss, as if Ji Hun is just there, or as if have to go to help Chairman Cha again, worrying if he has a good or bad life.”
Choi Kang Hee also revealed that the only actor who quickly come out from the role is Kam Jaejoong, while Ji Sung still retain the tone and way of action of Ji Hun, so when seeing Ji Sung again after the end, will become more miss the process of filming. “This drama, as if let me feel that, build a country that belongs to us. Actually it’s a very impractical subject, but then can feel that Ji Hun and Eun Sul is living there sweetly, and is also curious what Eun Sul is doing now.”
In fact, Eun Sul is not a role that easy to interpret, by contract there are more action movies that easy to digest. But what made Choi Kang Hee frustrated is the feeling play of Eun Sul. In the drama, Eun Sul was caught in between Ji Hun and Mu Won, in dilemma. “Actually, I absolutely cannot together with opposite sex who I don’t like, if somebody who I don’t like confessed to me, even in dream it’s impossible for me to date with him, I will tell my thoughts clearly to him. But Eun Sul is wavering, I will better understand if she just choose both of them.”
The straightforward character of Choi Kang Hee let her feel slightly regret as Eun Sul cannot has a clear attitude when dealing with the issue of opposite sex, “But not everybody is like me, if I face situation of Eun Sul, may be I don’t know what I supposed to do too.”
The Protect the Boss drama let Choi Kang Hee proved her title of “romantic comedy queen” again. Although it cannot grabbed more than 20% viewership ratings just like KBS 2TV drama The Princess’ Man that aired on the same time, but Choi Kang Hee has full confidence on the work. “This is a TV drama with no bad guy, love relationship is also special, in fact, if resolute, there is a lot of ways to stimulate the increase of ratings, but we avoid the use of these approach. Writer and director want to retain the original heart, so we are very satisfied.”
Choi Kang Hee is very proud for the perfect coordination between the main casts of Protect the Boss, said, “The personality of Kim Jaejoong is like an angel, but sometimes he will act like a baby. The coordination with Ji Sung is rapport, I can feel the feeling towards Ji Hun. Ji Hye has a lovely side, always drive the atmosphere on the set.”
Conversely, there is also person who made it hard for Choi Kang Hee, and he is Park Young Kyu. “There is a period during shooting of Protect the Boss where the script arrived late. Every scene must be completely filmed, so NG must be less too.” But the problem always lies in Park Young Kyu. “By just seeing face of the senior, I feel very laughable, very interesting. To quickly finished filming, but NG because I always laughed. As the result a lot of scenes were broadcast like that, many audiences with fast eyes should have seen them.”
Tactfully asked the question about marriage to Choi Kang Hee who seemed to immerse in the drama, but she was like this is the thing of other countries. “Earlier this year I had the idea to get married, and now my family needs me, so does not have the idea to marry. But very strange, not long ago suddenly does not have thinking on opposite sex, even the same for the same-sex. May be I lose the curiosity on human being. Don’t know how they going to change in future, but it’s like this at least for now. No thought to marry, and also don’t want to in relationship with anybody.”
The response of Choi Kang Hee to the unexpected question showed her careful yet lots of worry characters, “I subtlety have a character, some friends afraid of me, I have a serious side, or, the unique coolness of Choi Kang Hee? When others mess with me, I only endure for 3 times, if more than that then I will erupt.”
But Choi Kang Hee also good in acting spoiled like a baby, looks a little dumb, but will show in front of the love one. “Choi Kang Hee has four packages, cute, sexy, cool, care. I am a girl with magic, if understand will be attracted by my diverse charm.”
Choi Kang Hee stars mainly in romantic comedy, but it’s not her own particular choice. “Everybody says I am romantic comedy queen, I am actually not very clear, I also want to change the image to experience more subjects, but this is not very easy, there will be similar roles approach me again.”
