The boy band F.T. Island’s Lee Hong Ki is praised for his steady acting skill in the KBS Chuseok special drama Noriko Goes to Seoul, which was aired on September 10th, 2011. The drama is about a middle-aged Japanese housewife who goes to Korea to participate in audition competition after found out that she got lung cancer.
After the broadcasting of drama, the acting skill of Lee Hong Ki is highly praised. In the drama, Lee Hong Ki acted as the character of Kim Min-ha, which dreams of becoming a singer. He becomes a good friend with Mori Noriko (played by Takashima Reiko), and both of them had shown high level of coordination.
Many people has feedback that the acting skill, conversation of lines and expression of Lee Hong Ki is proven, with comments such as “don’t know Lee Hong Ki’s acting skill is so good,” “the rediscovery of Lee Hong Ki,” “very sorry for prejudice previously”. And according to the media, the short drama has brought a Hallyu fever in Japan.
