“Although very regret of very low viewership ratings, but we never waver.”

“Love Rain” began shooting in September 2011. Comparing with other miniseries, they have ample time. But because there was a background change from 1970s to 2012, in order to meet the broadcast duration of every week, causing the tension in filming. On the amount of shooting in “Love Rain”, Jang Geun Suk said and sticking tongue out, “I am considered second, YoonA’s schedule is not to be joke about. To me, it’s a suicidal (schedule arrangement).”

The lead actors Jang Geun Suk and YoonA are praised for their acting, but the viewership ratings fall behind MBC’s “Lights and Shadows” and SBS’s “Fashion King“. From the position of the actors, certainly there is consideration for the ratings. In this regard, Jang Geun Suk said, “Does not spend too much thought. In the shooting for part of the 1970s, got much closer with YoonA. On the scene, everyone is joyful, so has been very firm on the filming.”

It’s not easy to show the feelings of the 1970s which was never tried before. Jang Geun Suk called it as “feel of aesthetic” in the 1970s. Using the words of PD Yoon Suk Ho, it’s “put aside the fast and aggressive progress of plot,” and everyone stands firm on this. Jang Geun Suk smiled and said, “To have the ratings, there must be conflicts, ups and downs and exaggerated personality, but this time we want to seize on the quality of the drama. Of course there are a lot of regrets, but the composition of the picture is so beautiful, I am very satisfied.”

“Please do not be asking for too much success”

When one heard the name of “Jang Geun Suk”, the first thought is “gorgeous.” Jang Geun Suk is of course also very clear. Because of image of actor Jang Geun Suk gives a too strong feeling of performing artist, so at times he feels lost on how to drive himself forward. In this regard, Jang Geun Suk said, “Seo Joon of 2012 is mostly style of Jang Geun Suk, although there is a bit feeling of rude and unreasonable, but Seo In Ha of 1970s is completely innocent teenager. When mother saw me in 1970s also said, ‘Would be very difficult,’ if want to choose a safe path, but don’t stop at image.”

People used to love actors around 25 to over 30 years old. But recently, especially in the family drama, actors about 25 years old are even more well loved by the audience. Jang Geun Suk smiled and said, “There is Micky Yoochun, Lee Seung Gi, and brother Yoo Ah In. Previously I was very lonely and would like to compete with everyone, now there are o many opponents, so it’s getting much more interesting.” He added, “I want to share the thoughts and the kind of sense of responsibility with peer actors.”

Jang Geun Suk also said, “I hope that people don’t over stress success on him. From the result, because of low viewership ratings, leading the speculation of ‘big difference in popularity in Japan and Korea,’ but how could me, 26-year-old, can own everything? 20 odd years old is actually the age of constantly reawaken and trying. Now every year I have a new film, I will constantly challenge just like now.”
